It’s Nothing

Mom what is this? Why do I have this line going down the front of my chest to my belly?

That’s just where God put you together, honey.

What about this in the middle of my back, where did it come from?

I’m not sure, I can’t remember maybe something happened when you were little. Don’t worry about it, you’re doing good now.

Okay then still weird nobody else has these do they?

Don’t worry, you’re my baby and you’ve gotten this far.

I’ve come across a time in my life where multitasking is my poison. I apologize I have not been able to keep up with Storyline nor Beauty Beholden. My life is the same. I am focused on creating a business plan and I am in do or die mode about it. I haven’t forgotten you. I have some more to Storyline or I could just leave it. My visual side is focused on the physical things I need to do for my business, but I’m hoping, as I go through cleaning, I can find something else to share. Beauty comes in many forms and I’m glad to share my vision and views of it with you.

I have ideas in my head for both blogs here and my blog. It’s going to work out. I feel God is happy with what I am doing. I am definitely trying to take it slow and logical right now. As much as I want everything to work out right now, I am working hard to stay focused on things being in God’s timing not mine or anyone else’s. I have a vision for this city with my business and my mom and myself.  So, please bear with me while I am adjusting and refocusing and refocusing some more. I hope you all are well. I’ll be happy to catch up with you soon. I’m going to work on using the mobile apps more. This may result in even more English grammar mistakes than I already make. But, I just want to get things out. I’m not doing this for anyone specific, I just know I’m not the only one who may enjoy what I have to say. See you soon.

Clean Sweep

Baby cried and cried. “What’s wrong?” Mother stooped down to pick her up. Looking her in the eyes, Mother wondered out loud, “Why don’t you smile?” Baby just stared at her mom. Maybe she understands, maybe she doesn’t. Then she begins to cry again.  “Okay, okay.”

On the changing table Mother proceeds to take care of business swiftly. With the skill of a natural born processor, Mother doesn’t miss a step. Baby just stares. Mother smiles while she sings and dances her way through the change.  “All done. Let’s go to the front room and dance some more.”

Mother tries hard to get some sort of response from baby, but nothing happens. Baby talks in her own language when she wants something, so Mother focuses on learning that language. “I’m sure she’ll grow out of it, she’s just not ready.” So, they dance.

“Do you think they are ready to leave?” Head Nurse spoke in a hushed voice. “Mom’s first set of stitches is healing well, but the second set is still healing. Do you think she’ll have problems?”

Doctor, looking at a family photo, nodded his head.

“Also, I’m afraid Baby’s first stitches are going to leave a scar.” Head Nurse continues. “Mom may have questions about that. The healing from the procedure is going well, though. I’m not sure about scarring, though. The new instrument makes healing faster, so that’s good.”

Doctor finally looked up from his desk. It was covered with notes and incomplete forms. Nothing regarding the procedure was to go into the system. Only the same relevant information that goes in for those not involved in the project. As long as the paperwork was filled out and filed correctly, The Company said they would handle everything else. So far everything was going well. It was about medical advancement, but still, Doctor felt uneasy. Focusing on family photos helps to remind him it’s about their future. But, what about the patients families? Head Nurses words didn’t help.

“Let them go,” Doctor eased out. “We did everything as directed, even with the issues. The Company doesn’t want us bringing notice to the issues by prolonging their stay. We have 2 more this month and need to prepare the forms. With the new equipment we’ve been able to move faster and more accurately. Because of that, The Company also directed me to transport the infants, with the mother, by vehicle, no matter what. We don’t need anymore losses or close calls due to transporting them.”

Head Nurse tried to smile as she turned to leave. “Okay.”

No Pun Intended

Head Nurse walked in, chart in hand, with an apprehensive grin.

Mom sat up in the bed. She’d been reading the Ebony magazines she’d brought for the stay. She dog-eared the pages with the gorgeous pictures she would use later. She is a good artist. It’s just a hobby, but, you never know. This is often the case with people having the capability to equally use and expand both the left and right hemispheres of their brains.

“Good morning, Mom. How are you feeling today?”

“Well, I’m glad, surprised, but glad I was able to cut down on the painkillers. I can actually do more than “pretend” to look at just pictures.” Mom laughed. ” I’ve been able to catch up on some of my reading. Having to work so much to make up for the time I am going to miss has been difficult. Just sleep, eat, work, repeat. Maybe that’s why she came early. She needed a break. No pun intended. ”

They both laughed as Head Nurse checked Mom’s vitals and straightened up her bed and room.

“One more day and you both will be on your way home. Baby will be strong enough and your stitches will have been removed. You both,’ Head Nurse stammers,” you, are healing so well.” I hope she doesn’t…

Both? “Yes, we’ll be great. Dad should be here in the afternoon. I’m guessing we’ll be ready by then. May I have some water and pudding. I’m hoping I missed the cravings, but I’m not really hungry yet, either. ”

“Sure. I’ll have housekeeping bring it right up. Just make sure you have a good dinner. She needs your strength, too.”
